Posted on August 19, 2011 by Ronald Todd
Iron Worker Falls from Height while Installing Decking
Iron workers were placing decking onto stringers. As the decking was being placed, the worker stepped onto the decking that had just been placed to put down the next decking. The decking the worker stepped on was not secure. He lost his footing and fell approximately 80 feet. Safety nets were being used on the project, but the nets had not moved forward to the area where the worker fell.

Workers Compensation is Not Your Only Remedy when Involved in a Construction Accident
Workers compensation prevents you to sue your employer for damages beyond the benefits provided in the Indiana's Workers Compensation Act. However, you may have a remedy to obtain a full recovery for all your damages not provided under the Workers Compensation Act against negligent subcontractors, general contractors, construction managers, supplier or developer. With so many different groups involved in the completion of any construction project, construction sites are some of the most dangerous work places in Indiana. If you have been injured in a construction accident, you need an experienced work place lawyer to help you determine if you have a claim beyond workers compensation.
