Service Laborer Dies in Truck Accident Indiana

Facts of Wrongful Death Indiana
A laborer was killed in a workplace accident. He was changing the tires on an 18 wheeler company truck. One of the tires exploded, and he was struck by a lock ring. He died from a cardiac contusion due to blunt trauma.
Indiana State FACE Investigators' Recommendations to Prevent Similar Semi Truck Accidents
- Employers should ensure training is repetitive enough when performing non-repetitive tasks.
- Employers should ensure rim flanges, rim gutters, ring head surfaces and head of tires are free of dirt, surface scale, and flaked rubber.
