Cranes can be Construction Site Hazards
Posted on October 19, 2011 by Ronald Todd
A construction worker is injured when the crane's 100 foot arm snapped causing the crane to flip. This is an example of a crane that was not properly maintained and was lifting a load that was too heavy for the crane. Workers in these types of situations can receive catastrophic injuries (i.e. severe traumatic brain injury, quadriplegic spinal cord injury, spinal cord injury paralysis) or construction fatalities. Other type of crane accidents involve a construction material falls from height, crane has defective parts or operator is not properly trained.
