Construction Accident Indiana: Construction Jobs are one of the Most Dangerous Jobs in the United States
Posted on October 19, 2011 by Ronald Todd
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSA) reviews industries in the United States for safety. NIOSA has found that the construction industry is one of the most dangerous for workers. Over 15 construction workers per 100,000 die from a workplace accident every year. Six percent of the workers in the United States (or over nine million workers) are employed in the construction industry. However, 20% of all the workplace wrongful deaths occur in the construction industry. The number one reason for construction fatalities is falls from height. There are no trades that do not expose their workers to the construction site hazard of falls.
