Leading Edge Falls at Indiana Construction Sites Cause Too Many Serious Injuries and Deaths
Posted on October 13, 2011 by Ronald Todd
Accidents are common and serious personal injuries and deaths too often occur at Indiana construction when there is an unprotected leading edge. Falls from height of 6 feet or more are the number one reason for construction fatalities and a major cause of other serious injuries. OSHA regulations provide that all employees working near a leading edge that has a 6 feet or great drop-off must have fall protection. If this is not feasible or if it creates a greater risk of injury, a fall protection plan can be developed by a competent person. Any such fall protection plan must comply with 29 CFR 1926.502(k).
