Forklift Driver Killed in Indiana
Posted on October 13, 2011 by Ronald Todd
While working on a loading dock, a forklift truck operator came close to the outer edge. The loading dock crumbled causing the forklift to topple over off. The operated was crashed and died from a traumatic asphyxia. To prevent construction fatalities from forklift trucks, general contractors need to ensure that:
- Passageways are kept clean and in good repair;
- Operators receive safety training; and
- Daily maintenance and safety checks are performed on all forklifts by a competent person.
Construction injuries and wrongful death happen far too often in Indiana. The only way to prevent these construction fatalities and injuries is for general contractors to make safety the number one priority at the job site. If you or a loved one has been injured because of a safety issue on a job site, call a construction accident law firm at (317) 375-7718 or online at www.ronaldtoddlaw.com today for a free conference.
